Ezy’s League Week 10 Report

By Colin Thompson

Kotlarz vs. Grossy and PC
In a key matchup with playoff implications written all over it, Grossy and PC defeated Kotlarz 47-28. The loss dealt a huge blow to Kotlarz’s playoff dreams as they fell to 4-6 and sit second last in the league. They will regret the decision to bench the Bronco’s QB and their 28 points along with Peyton Hillis who has been tearing it up as of late. You can call that bad luck on the Hillis call however as Adrian Peterson and Arian Foster are still great backs but they need more for AP if they hope to make the playoffs. For Grossy and PC Mike Wallace was the difference in this matchup as his late touchdowns pushed them over the edge and on the verge of the playoffs with a 5-4-1 record.

Ezy vs. Unze and Gally
In the closest contest of the week Unze and Gally edged Ezy by just one point, 44-43. Ezy will regret sitting Jamaal Charles as that would have been enough to push them over in this matchup. Three goose eggs at three different skill positions was really their undoing as you absolutely must get production out of your RBs and WRs to win in this league. Unze and Gally is lucky that DeSean Jackson was able to score on the opening play of the game and rack up 8 points on the night because without them they would have lost. Thanks to this win Unze and Gally moved to 6-4 and currently sits 3rd in the league meanwhile Ezy’s slide continued as they dropped their second straight and are in a log jam at 5-5.

Wolk vs. Troy and Rob
The top two teams met head to head last Sunday and Troy and Rob came away with an impressive beat down of Wolk 73-42. Huge performances from Maurice Jones-Drew and Brandon Lloyd powered them to victory. MJD finished with 15 points and Lloyd had 12, these totals along with only 1 teammate scoring 0 points was vital to Troy and Rob’s win. Wolk on the other hand had 4 players not receive a point and it really hurt them. It’s unfortunate for Wolk that they are dealing with some major injury issues at running back. Joseph Addai and Pierre Thomas are out with injuries and they were forced to start backups Willis McGahee and Javarris James. Chances are though that both of these teams will be around come playoff time and if they meet again with healthy rosters it could be a different story.

Lick My Brown Star vs. Ryan
The most lopsided contest took place between Lick My Brown Star and Ryan and it saw Ryan get blown out 50-16. Ryan’s team was so dismal this week that they didn’t even get any bench points, it was just one of those weeks. You know it’s a good week for you when your quarterback outscores the entire team you’re playing. That was the case for Lick My Brown Star as the Patriots QB recorded 21 points. It’s too bad that this was Lick My Brown Star’s first win of the season and at 1-9 they won’t be in the running to win this league. For Ryan they are in a 4 way tie for 5th at 5-5 and have lost their last 3 games. They will need to turn it around in a hurry if they hope to make any noise in the playoffs.

Burny vs. Jake & Nick
Coming into the week Burny was looking to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the pack and Jake and Nick needed a win to tighten the gap. Going into Monday night Burny had a slight lead but Jake and Nick had the Eagles QB still left to play. 6 total touchdowns later Jake and Nick ended up winning 60-32 in what was a closer matchup then the score indicated. That once in a lifetime performance by their QB was exactly what they needed to get back into the playoff race. Unfortunately for Burny they were not able to use Fred Jackson’s 15 points to their advantage.
