Four Teams Remain; Entire Enchilada Up For Grabs

by Chris Ryan

It's down to four teams in the West Orange Football Mecca League competing for the league championship, and nearly as important, a thousand bucks. The end of the season always produces some crazy outcomes, and this year will be no different. Good luck to all still involved.

Sharktopus vs. Double Secret Probation

HOW THEY GOT HERE: Sharktopus cruised to the Everywhere Else Division title with a 10-3 record, and earned a first round bye. Double Secret Probation, runner-up in the WOMA Division with a 9-5 record, destroyed Lee H 98-55 in the first round of the playoffs.

MATCHUP BREAKDOWN: Sharktopus is headlined by group of studly performers, most of whom have excellent matchups. Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson are the only guys who may fail to live up to the lofty expectations, but they'll by no means be shut down completely. Really, the only hole is the tight end position. Double Secret Probation rely heavily on the dominant RB duo of Arian Foster and LeSean McCoy, along with the always great Andre Johnson. For them to have a chance against Sharktopus, DSB needs Jon Kitna to have a monster game. A bounce back for Stevie Johnson wouldn't hurt either.

PREDICTION: Kitna does have a favorable matchup against Washington, but Sharktopus just has too many studs in advantageous situations. I smell a blowout.

Meet The Mutts vs. TITANS

HOW THEY GOT HERE: Meet the Mutts got the bye after finishing 11-2 and first place in the West Orange Metro Area Division. The Titans didn't have it so easy, scratching and clawing their way into the playoffs, where they stomped Creeping Death 110-75 in the opening round.

MATCHUP BREAKDOWN: Steady Joe Flacco leads Meet the Mutts, the league's best team, record-wise. He'll again have a solid performance against New Orleans. Tim Hightower, Thomas Jones (if Cassel plays), and Jason Witten all have exploitable opponents as well. Greg Jennings desperately needs Aaron Rodgers back to have an impact.

As for the TITANS, on paper, they look to have the upper-hand. Philip Rivers will be his studly self against the Niners, and the WR threesome of Calvin Johnson, Marques Colston, and Roddy White is as good as there is in the league. Throw in the solid Fred Jackson and the surging Brandon Jacobs, and the TITANS look poised for a big week.

PREDICTION: It's hard to pick against the top team in the league, especially considering some solid matchups, but the TITANS looked decidedly titanic this week. I'm going with the upset.
