The Haverford Trust league channeled the Indianapolis Colts of years past. With one week left to play in the regular season, all eight playoff berths are already spoken for, and the four teams at the bottom of the standings can start dreaming of drafting Andrew Luck.
They’re In
The Dancing Bears extended its winning streak to five weeks and now sit alone atop the Bulls Division with the league’s best record, 9-3. They can clinch that division title with a win this week against Mutley, who fell one game behind in the division with a loss to the Boyertown Crackers.
Client 9 won its second straight contest to run its record to 8-4 and retain the top spot in the Bears Division. They can wrap up their division championship by defeating Shake ‘n Bake.
The Lethal Weapons are riding a five-game winning streak and sit just behind Mutley with an 8-4 record (as a result of the points tiebreaker). They close out their regular season against 3 & Out.
D-Money edged the Executioners last week to improve its record to 7-5. This team can still win the Bears Division title by defeating King Cobra, hoping for a Client 9 and making up their 45-point difference in the tiebreaker. Steve Johnson can help make that happen and make western New York happy again by losing his case of the dropsies.
Three teams sit at 6-6 and can actually make the playoffs even if they end up with 6-7 records. The Executioners hold the points tiebreaker over the other two, despite their two-game losing streak. They face the conVICKs this week and would like Dwayne Bowe to keep finding the end zone early and often. King Cobra won a squeaker last week over Shake ‘n Bake. They face D-Money this week and want Tom Brady to score frequently against the New York Jets on Thursday night. The Boyertown Crackers, winners of two straight games, can make it three against Iced, as long as they don’t get another sloppy outing from Peyton Manning.
They’re Looking Good
Actually, all eight of those teams are looking good. So is Gisele Bundchen, but that’s another story.
They Need Help
No one, except maybe James Harrison, who’s reaching for his checkbook yet again.
They’re Done
With their two-game losing streak, the conVICKs have wrapped the league’s worst record at 2-10. Three other teams sit at 4-8. Iced got there by dropping a close match against the Lethal Weapons. Shake ‘n Bake and 3 & Out are riding five-game losing streaks and probably can’t wait for the 2011 fantasy draft to start.
