Necessary Roughness Expands Their Lead as Time Dwindles
Time is dwindling, and Necessary Roughness's lead is expanding. With just five weeks remaining in the season, two teams, the Green Gangsters and Team Ramrod, are all but eliminated, as they find themselves out of first place by over 400 points. There are six teams within 102 points of each other, though, and Happy Ending Boy is within 84 points of the league leading Roughness. Let's take a look and see how those teams still in contention fared last week.
Necessary Roughness (1644 points): Finished second with 131 points, and gained a little more breathing room over Happy Ending Boy by outscoring them by 12.
Happy Ending Boy (1560): Had a strong overall showing with 119 points, but need to string together a couple big weeks to keep pace with Roughness.
Green Geckos (1466): The Geckos did everything in their power to move up the standings, scoring a league-high 140 points, but only ended up gaining nine points Roughness, and 21 on Happy Ending Boy. Every little bit helps, but they need more than a little bit to make up a 178 point deficit.
Aging Alcoholics (1442): The Alcoholics can't seem to ever make up any ground. They just keep hanging around, and hanging around, but never moving much in either direction. They finished an uninspiring 7th in total points last week, good enough to remain in fourth place.
Chunga's Revenge (1440): Chunga was the big loser of Week 12. They entered in 3rd place and a manageable 166 points out of first, and exited in the fifth position, and 204 points out. That's what happens when you can only muster 93 points.
Sarge's 13 (1429): The last of the teams with a legitimate chance to contend for a title, Sarge's 13 finished with 108 points, gaining precious ground on Chunga and the Alcoholics, but not nearly a big enough number to pull them to within striking distance Roughness and Happy Ending Boy.
