Bush League - Week#10

If the season ended today, Team Redman and Upstate Flavor would hold the top two spots in the playoff bracket, and Don't Come In Here, Team MoneyMen, Deez Nunz, and UGotBeat ByAGirl would be playing with themselves in the consolation bracket. With three games left to play, no team has been mathematically limited, though one loss by any of the 3-7 squads would mean the end of fantasy football for the 2010 season. Let's take a look at how things are taking shape as we roll head-first into the important time of the season.

Key Games Last Week:
-In a battle for a tie for first place, NY Mazmaniacs watched as Peyton Manning and Pierre Garcon basically no-showed, combining for just 10 points. Fred Jackson had 27 all by his lonesome for Upstate Flavor, and the Shaun Hill/Calvin Johnson duo combined for 35 points
-Deez Nunz stayed alive thanks to Mike Vick's 54 point freakout, winning 114-70 over Don't Come In Here. Both teams are on the verge of elimination with losses this week.
-Morgan Dollar trailed 54-82 heading into the Sunday night game, with Tom Brady and Danny Woodhead left to play, while Birch Boys had Rashard Mendenhall. Mike Tomlinson's decision to essentially bench Mendenhall in the second half resulted in just five points, and the 37 points out of Brady/Woodhead, resulted in four point victory for Morgan Dollar, keeping them in a tie for first place.

Key Week 11 Matchups:
Morgan Dollar (7-3) vs. Team ThirdBall (6-4)
A victory for Team ThirdBall, who boasts a nice collection of studly players, would all but secure a playoff berth, and just as importantly, give them the tiebreaker over Morgan Dollar should both end the year tied with the same record.
Deez Nunz (3-7) vs. UGotBeat ByAGirl (3-7)
The loser is eliminated. The winner gets to tell themselves they can still pull out a miracle, for one more week at least.
Team MoneyMen (4-6) vs. LA Arsonists (5-5)
Despite being tied with Birch Boys, Team MoneyMen is on the outside of the playoff bracket looking in. They desperately need a win, and they desperately need Austin Collie back to do that. The Arsonists sit in a precarious spot as well, hanging on in seventh place.

Predictions:
The top three teams (Redman, Flavor, Dollar) are in, but if I had to predict who the top seed will be, Morgan Dollar gets the nod. They're top heavy with Brady, Arian Foster, and Ahmad Bradshaw, and the return of Vincent Jackson will go a long way in solidifying the receiving group. Of the rest of the league, Team ThirdBall presents the best chance of breaking into the top three. Philip Rivers/Chris Johnson/Roddy White represents the best QB/RB/WR combo in the league, and the supporting cast is excellent with Jacob Tamme, Brandon Lloyd, Miles Austin, and LeGarrette Blount. A Lot Of Talk And A Badge has a talented enough roster to make late-season charge up the standings as well. One of the four teams sitting at 5-5 and 4-6 won't be participating in the postseason. My guess -- Team MoneyMen. There are some nice players on the roster, but there's not a superstar, or even just a regular star, in the fold. That's a problem when you need to consistently put up big point totals.
