MFL - Madison Football League Week #10

by Scott Zlotnick

With only three weeks remaining in the regular season, lets see how the playoff picture looks right now

They’re Getting In
Right now, three teams are virtually assured a playoff berth and they all happen to be in the same division, the Monona Division.  BJ Bj’s and Essen Haus are tied for the division lead at 8-2, while Blowfish are right on their tail at 7-3.  One of the three teams will take home the division title, while the other two will gain wild card berths.  Right now, I’ll give the edge to BJ BJ’s, due to the fact they have Michael Vick, Roddy White, Andre Johnson, and Brandon Lloyd, who have all had unbelievable years and should continue to get high point values each week.

The Fight for the Final Three Spots
Realistically, there are four teams fighting for three spots in the playoffs.  Due to Captain Morgan’s point difference, the odds of them making the playoffs is slim.  That leaves the Tomahawks, Sunday is Professional Day, K-Men, and the Molly Maguires fighting for the final three spots.  The first three teams all play in the Mendota Division and are tied in first at 5-5, while the Molly Maguires play in Monona Division.  In my opinion, I believe Sunday is Professional Day has the best chance to win the Mendota division.  With Peyton Manning at QB, Arian Foster in the backfield, And Terrell Owens at WR, it’s an explosive and high scoring offense.  The team on the outside looking in for me is the K-Men.  I feel as though their weak QB play as well as their lack of depth at both WR and RB will prevent them from scoring enough points to reach the playoffs, leaving the Tomahawks and Molly Maguries with the final two wild card births.
