Pain Curve: Ron Mexico’s Pit Bulls Are Who We Thought They Were
You have to toss it up for Michael Vick this week. Not only did his rip Giants fans’ hearts right out of their chests Sunday afternoon at the Meadowlands, but he kicked Ron Mexico’s Pit Bulls right in the ball sack!
Vick’s 39 points was not only the highest total by a player in this contest, but it made up for the lackluster efforts of Maurice Jones-Drew and the disappointing four-point total on behalf of Anquan Boldin and Wes Welker. Fortunately, between Vick’s heroics and The Daily Show’s dominant, the job was completed.
You cannot fault Ron Mexico here – it was simply a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time…Matt Dodge? Joe Flacco and the wide-outs performed as expected, but the scrubs filling at the running back position were exposed. As Denny Green would say, “If you wanna crowd their ass, you crowd their asses.” Woody and Anthony Dixon – needless to say their asses were quite crowded.
The Pain Curve positions him in The Big House Super Bowl, facing off against Lights Out. Once will have to wonder if Vick will once again be the difference-maker.

Lights Out for Calbears
A simple case of too many monstrous performances against a team facing too many hurdles, as Lights Out closed the door on Calbear’s 2010 campaign by a score of 114-80.
Big Ben’s mediocre effort against the Jets was cured by a clinic put on by Chris Johnson, who is red-hot coming down the end of his less than spectacular season, and Jason Witten, who exploded all over the Skins defense. Only Knowshon Moreno (injury) and the field goal kicker did not score in double-digits, as the team scored a league-high total.
The Calbears’ reserve backs scored an unforeseen 26 points; compare that to the 10 and 8-point efforts by Mike Tolbert and Michael “The Burner” Turner. It is not as if the switch would have made the difference. Perhaps if T.O. did not injure himself, or if Aaron Rodgers was quarterbacking the Pack – too many “ifs” though.
The win sends Calbears packing, forced the end their season a game earlier than they wanted. For Lights Out, it’s a contest against Pain Curve, who also topped the century mark in their win.

Super Bowl Preview: Pain Curve vs. Lights Out
It is a dream Super Bowl tilt. Two evenly matched teams squaring off with one person seizing the glory of his best friends, the other left in misery only to contemplate their first selection in next year’s draft. Let the games begin.
For Pain Curve, it was have to be Michael Vick shouldering the load against the Vikes. After the loss to the Bears Monday night, many of Vikes defenders are hurt, which I believe should not help their motivation to play in a meaningful game in Philly this week.
I also like Maurice Jones-Drew to rebound against the Skins, who also have given up on their 2010 season – see Grossman, Rex. Expect Anquan Boldin to rebound in Cleveland as well. Those two will have to perform because The Daily Show won’t run amuck against Pitt.
The other side of that Steelers-Panthers contest has Big Ben getting to rip up a porous Panthers defense that has been exposed by every offense. Big Ben’s due; there cannot be a better time for a breakout game.
I’m digging Chris Johnson and Run DMC to continue their recent stretch of dominance, and I can’t say I hate any of the wide-outs matchups either. Hakeem the Dream will have to play big if the G-Men keep up with the Aaron Rodgers-led Packers; Roddy White gets a tough test in the Saints but Matty Ice brings the heat at home; Megatron is a mismatch for any corner.
My prediction: it could be a toss-up, but I have to rule in favor of Lights Out. Vick can carry the team on his back, even more than Greg Jennings, but there are too many questions marks at RB2 and with Danny Amendola having to match production with Megatron. If one of these wide-outs go off, it’s lights out for Pain Curve.
