Commissioneer Sports 2010-2011 - Playoff Preview

Just Two Weeks To Get Your Postseason Preparations Made
With just two weeks left before the playoffs, there's still a lot to be decided. The San Diego Redemption hold the top spot at 8-4, but Jamarcus Russells Effort is nipping at their heels. The Gold Rush and AUSTIN currently hold the final two positions, thanks in large part to their tie earlier in the season. With only five losses, they're a half game up on Temecula and the Wonka Factory, who both sit at 6-6. Let's take a look at some of the playoff implications for this upcoming week.
Jamarcus Russells Effort (7-5) vs Shawn Bennett (3-9)
-Shawn Bennett has nothing to play for but pride, while Russells Effort is still in contention to earn the top seed. They have to be careful -- a late collapse could have them on the outside looking in -- but Russells Effort should be fine with Tom Brady, Peyton Hillis and Chris Johnson powering the way.
AUSTIN 3:16 (6-5-1) vs. Temecula and the Calimen (6-6)
-The biggest game of the week. A half game and one spot separate these two in the standings, and the winner will get a huge advantage heading into the final week of the season. The Adrian Peterson injury situation will be the major story of this contest. If he is able to play well, give the advantage to AUSTIN, but if he's absent or hobbled, Peyton Manning will propel Temecula to the victory.
Wonka Factory Snozzberries (6-6) vs. Pride Rock Simbas (5-7)
-The Simbas are still in playoff contention, barely, but their team has been so beset by injuries, it's hard to imagine them mounting much competition for the surging Wonka Factory.
San Diego Redemption (8-4) vs. Bafana Bafana Gold Rush (6-5-1)
-The Gold Rush, currently #3 in the standings, desperately need a win to feel secure in the playoff chances. The Redemption are the league’s top team, and all but assured a spot in the postseason. Bafana has to deal with the loss of Frank Gore, while San Diego got a nice surprise when Andre Johnson wasn't suspended. It'll be a very close, but I like the Redemption.
