Taking Talents to South Beach Week 14 Report

By Colin Thompson
Key Week 13 Matchups
LaFlammaBlanca defeated Free17LetHimBallOut
LaFlammaBlanca scored a critical win in the final week of the regular season to steal the final playoff spot away from Hochuli’s Biceps. They would defeat Free17LetHimBallOut 136.62 to 68.58 in a matchup that was never really close. The lethal combination of Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings has been powering them the last few weeks and week 13 was no different. Rodgers finished with 33.82 points and Jennings had 27.2 to lead the way in the blowout. Free17LetHimBallOut was comfortably already in the postseason but would of liked to see better performances from their studs QB Kyle Orton and RB Ray Rice who combined for a meager 8.68 points.

iShouldBe7and1 defeated Sneezin&Coughlin
Two 6-6 teams went at it with a playoff spot on the line in this matchup. Unfortunately for Sneezin&Coughlin their 103.18 to 88.64 loss was enough to knock them out of the playoffs. iShouldBe7and1 improved to 7-6 and took the 5th overall seed with stellar performances from Michael Vick and Ahmad Bradshaw who combined for 55.88 points. Sneezin&Coughlin’s undoing was the poor play from quarterback Eli Manning who did not throw a touchdown pass on Sunday and only managed to score 4.34 points in a disappointing performance.

Playoff Matchups Round 1
(4) Malken vs. (5) iShouldBe7and1
Malken is coming off a disappointing loss in which they were outscored by 43.84 points. That is certainly not the way you want to finish the regular season but they need to regroup quickly with the playoffs beginning. They are in desperate need of star wide receiver Hakeem Nicks to return to the lineup and provide a spark. Nicks has been out the last couple of weeks and it has hurt their receiving numbers. Their playoff squad will still be strong however as they are lead by QB Drew Brees and one of the strongest running games around. Peyton Hillis and Rashard Mendenhall are perhaps the best one two punch in the entire postseason. As for iShouldBe7and1, they are riding an impressive 2 game winning streak and it couldn’t come at a better time. Michael Vick and Ahmad Bradshaw have really carried their team as of late and will need to continue that as on paper they are not as strong as Malken.

(3) iGoodInMyOtherLeague vs. LaFlammaBlanca
iGoodInMyOtherLeague is coming off a dominating performance last week over Malken and LaFlammaBlanca is arguably the hottest team going into the playoffs having won their last 3 contests. Even though they are the 6th seed, nobody wants to see LaFlammaBlanca right now. Jamaal Charles is the hottest RB in the league and the dynamic combination of Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings is almost unbeatable. Oh yeah and having the second best fantasy receiver in Brandon Lloyd also doesn’t hurt. iGoodInMyOtherLeague is no slouch either as they have Adrian Peterson and Steven Jackson running the ball and the dynamic Ben Roethlisberger throwing it.

Round 1 Predictions
LaFlammaBlanca upsets iGoodInMyOtherLeague – the 6 seed gets it done here. They are incredibly hot right now winning their last 3 games and their starting lineup is so dynamic. Electrifying runners Jamaal Charles and Darren McFadden along with the Rodgers to Jennings connection is going to be too much for iGoodInMyOtherLeague to handle.

Malken defeats iShouldBe7and1 – Malken’s talent is just too much and if Michael Vick gets shut down this weekend then I fear that iShouldBe7and1 will lose badly. The running game will be key in this one and Malken looks to have an edge in that regard.
